1. Introduction

Sage is a family accountability and focus-support platform designed to help children build healthy habits through routines, rewards, and behavioral insights. We are committed to protecting your personal information across our mobile apps, desktop Focus Mode, and all related services.

2. Information We Collect

From Parents/Guardians

  • Name, email, phone number, login credentials
  • Child name/nickname, age/grade level
  • Schedules, tasks, goals, reward settings

From Children

  • Nicknames/profile names
  • Task completion entries
  • Check-ins, focus logs, mood indicators
  • Optional homework notes

Automatically Collected

  • Device type, OS, IP address
  • App usage metrics, Focus Mode behavior
  • Screen-time and session duration
  • Optional location check-ins for extracurriculars
  • On our marketing website (hello-sage.com), where Meta Pixel is enabled: page views and any additional conversion events we configure for advertising measurement through Meta Pixel
  • In the Sage mobile app, where Meta App Events are enabled: app install/open signals and selected in-app events used for Meta advertising measurement and attribution (for example, parent account registration, child profile connected, focus session, and task completion). These app events are sent as anonymous signals and are not designed to include child names, emails, or user IDs. On iOS, an advertising identifier (IDFA) may be accessed only if the user has granted permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

We do NOT collect

  • Biometric identifiers, health records, or government IDs
  • Child contact information or payment details from children
  • Advertising identifiers from children
  • On iOS, an advertising identifier (IDFA) may be accessed from a user's device only if the user has granted permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt
  • Meta Pixel on our marketing website may use cookies or similar technologies for advertising measurement. It is intended for visitors to our marketing website and is not used to target children as the audience of the Sage app.

4. How Information Is NOT Used

  • We do not sell personal information
  • We do not use children's data for third-party advertising or cross-app advertising targeting
  • We do not use device fingerprinting to identify children
  • We do not share identifiable child data with external AI providers unless anonymized or processed on our systems as described in this Privacy Policy
  • Parental opt-in is required for applicable AI features

Advertising Measurement — Parents / Marketing Website and Sage Mobile App

  • We use Meta (Facebook/Instagram) tools to measure and improve advertising that promotes Sage to parents and other adults, including Meta Pixel on hello-sage.com and Meta App Events in the Sage mobile app, where enabled
  • On the marketing website, Meta Pixel may measure page views and additional conversion events that we configure for advertising measurement
  • In the Sage mobile app, where Meta App Events are enabled, we may send app install/open signals and selected in-app events for advertising measurement and attribution, such as parent account registration, child profile connected, focus session, and task completion
  • These tools help us understand whether advertising campaigns result in website visits, app installations, or relevant parent/adult actions
  • We do not use Meta advertising tools to target children or to serve interest-based advertising to children inside the Sage app

5. Information Sharing

Service Providers

Cloud storage, product analytics, and infrastructure providers that help us operate Sage. These providers are contractually limited to providing services to Sage.

Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook/Instagram) — used for advertising measurement and attribution on our marketing website through Meta Pixel and, where enabled, in the Sage mobile app through Meta App Events. Meta may process technical and event data as described in its applicable policies. We configure these tools for parent/adult marketing measurement and attribution; we do not use them to target children with advertising.

With Parents

Progress, streaks, rewards, behavioral patterns, focus metrics, and learning insights are always visible to parents.

Legal Requirements Only

We never sell your data. Sharing occurs only when required by law, for safety, or for fraud prevention.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA-Aligned)

  • Parents create and manage child accounts
  • Children cannot provide contact or payment information
  • No third-party interest-based advertising to children inside the Sage app
  • Meta Pixel and Meta advertising measurement are used for our parent/adult marketing website and Sage mobile app promotion measurement only; they are not used to target or track children as the primary audience of Sage
  • Data sharing for children remains limited to core service providers needed to operate the product, plus disclosures required by law
  • Unauthorized child submissions are promptly deleted

7. Data Security

We employ industry-standard protections including HTTPS/TLS encryption, encrypted storage, access restrictions, authentication controls, continuous monitoring, and regular security audits.

8. Data Retention

Parents can delete accounts, request data export, or request deletion of historical logs at any time. Deleted data is removed or anonymized within 45 days unless retention is legally required.

9. User Rights

Depending on your region, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, as well as data download or processing restrictions. Parents exercise these rights on behalf of their children.

10. Policy Changes

When this policy is updated, we will notify parents via email or in-app notices.
